Shadow friend...

I found a new friend the other day while playing outside! Mom says his name is Jonah, just like me! We like to run fast together but sometimes he disappears on me. Mom and dad have shadow friends too and I like to step on them! Here we are playing and going on a walk together.

Hoppers!

I love it when my dada comes home from work. We usually go outside to play and find "hoppers". Our yard is full of them! Everywhere you step you see one hopping! I love it when dad catches them. And mom says I'm so brave because I let them sit on me and I even hold them in my hand!

Million of Peaches!

Peaches for me!
I love peaches! At the farmer's market each week we buy a whole basket full and I eat most of them. I'm limited to 2 a day but if I could eat more I would! My favorite thing to do is find the pit. As soon as I see it I give my peach to mom so she can dig it out for me. Then I devour the rest. I have a special mat that I have to sit on while eating peaches and no ordinary bib will do. Let's just say they're a little juicy!

When mom or dad asks if I want a peach I run to my mat and say, "peach pit, peach pit". And don't even think about pealing it or cutting it for me. (Once mom tried this and I protested.) I eat the whole thing just like dad!

In memory of...

My Great Grandpa Gerald Honn.
My great grandpa on my dad's side of the family passed away September 15th at his home. He was 85 years old. Mom, dad and I flew to Spokane to join the family for his memorial service. Unfortunately I was a bit tired and napped during his service but my dad gave the eulogy and everyone said he did a great job.
To read his obituary just click the link below.

This past summer I got to spend a whole week at his house and we had lots of fun together watching the squirrels play from his big picture window in the living room. I even gave him hugs and kisses if dad promised me cheese! By the end of the week I was giving him hugs for free though! I will really miss him.

Helping Dad

Now that we have a new house we are getting lots of stuff to go in it. Here Dad and I are putting together an entertainment center. As you can tell, I am doing most of the work! After putting that together I discovered all of the styrofoam and broke it into a million little pieces. Then I told mom there was a "mess" on the floor. We haven't unpacked our vacuum yet so I go around and find the little pieces and say, "eew!" and then throw them away.
I'm somewhat of a clean freak (must be a recessive gene). Every morning I take out a wet wipe and tell mom I going to clean. First I start with the window sills then the bed frame and anything else I can find. I still love to do the laundry too. I'll have to tell mom to get that on video soon.

20 months!

I am 20 months old now! Since mom gets to go to the baby doctor and get weighed, I step on the scale too and I weigh 29 lbs now!
I've had to switch my monthly picture chair so many times now. This rocker is my great-grandmother's grandmother's. And that makes it pretty old I think. I call my great grandma "Ma" and my great grandpa "Pop". They came over to see my new house and visit me the other day.
I still love trucks and point them out whenever we go somewhere in the car. I like to say, "whoa, truck!" I can even tell you what color it is! I know white, black, brown, blue, yellow and sometimes red. I like to tell people what color their eyes are too. I know mine, papa's and pa's are blue and mom's, dad's, nana's, and ma's are brown. Oh yeah, I can now say my name too! I say, "Jo Nah" or sometimes "Nah Jo". Mom and dad think it's real cute so they always ask me what my name is now. Mom and dad are painting my room so stay tuned for pictures of that when they're all finished! See you soon!

Rough-housing with Dad!

Our new house is lots of fun! We don't have much furniture yet so dad and I get to romp around everywhere! Here I am taking a horsey ride and a crab ride!

New House

I'm moving! We got a new house and today is the official day we move in. I'm a little confused as to why all my toys have been disappearing into the car and today even my crib came down!

I've been such a good helper. I insist on carrying stuff for dad and I loved the big truck that was parked in front of our house!

All I wanted to do was run up and down the ramp but my parents wouldn't let me. Said it was "too dangerous" or something.

While Dada and Papa moved stuff, Nana and I played in the shower! Boy was it fun!

I think I'm gonna like my new home but I sure will miss my Nana and Papa. Luckily we live close by...much closer than Hong Kong!

Little Swimmer!

Last week I started my first swim class! Nana spied me sticking my face in my bath water and decided it was time to learn how to swim. So Papa bought me a membership and signed me up! I get to go twice a week, once in the morning with mom and then in the afternoon with dad. I am a very serious swimmer. I am learning to "dig" and "kick". I'm much better at the kicking part. At my first lesson we got there early and another class was still going on. When I saw those kids going down the slide I practically pulled mom into the water saying, "me, me!". Then when I got to go on the slide I was straight faced and didn't crack a smile. I'm in class, what can I say? I take my lessons seriously, no goofing around. I only got to go twice but I kept saying, "one more"?

I also get to sing, play fun games and chase balls around the pool. I can't wait till my next class! I'll be swimming in no time!

Farmer's Market

Every Saturday morning Mom, Dad, Nana and I go to the Farmer's Market to pick out fresh produce. This has to be one of my favorite things to do! I love to help Nana put all the food into bags. I keep asking her, "one more? one more?" and she always says yes. So I load the bags up real good! Sometimes I have my own ideas on what to get so I just grab stuff and start carrying it around with me. Mom and Dad have to keep a real close eye on me so I don't accidentally steal stuff.
I really wanted this giant sweet potato!

Today I got real lucky and a kind lady gave me a piece of apple to eat. It was so good I wanted more but it was time to leave....maybe I can get another one next week!
At the end of the market there are pretty flowers to smell. I spied a bug on this one!

Me, me, me!

Just call me Mr. Independent from now on. I can do anything and everything by myself...or at least I think I can! When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is ask for cheese. I usually get a little bit of cottage cheese with some fruit. Then I say, "cereal, cereal, click, click, click". See, when mom used to give me milk she always made a fun clicking sound when it was time to eat so now when I drink my whole milk from a sippy cup or with my cereal I make that same clicking sound. In the morning I go to the pantry and pull out the cereal I want, then I go to the fridge and find my milk and give it to mom. Then I say, "me, me, me" because I can do it myself! If she tries to help me I just say, "me, me, me" even louder.
When I get to the end of my cereal I can pick the bowl up by myself and drink the milk too.
Then when I'm all done I use my sign language to let everyone know.

Washing the car

I'm still a very good helper around the house. My newest adventure is helping dad wash the car. Ok, so mostly I play in the water but mom did manage to catch a few shots of me actually putting the sponge up to the car. But it was much more fun to dip the sponge and squeeze out all the water onto the pavement.

Sprinkler Action

There's no better way to cool off on a hot summer day than to run in the sprinkler with dad. At first I was a little apprehensive but dad ran through with me a few times and then I couldn't get enough of it! Mom could hear me giggling all the way inside the house so she came out and snapped a few pictures.

After playing all afternoon I got a little thirsty.

19 Months!

Wow, I've really grown! Look at the size of that ball now!
Hee hee! Just kidding.

But I really have grown a lot. The other day when mom went in for her belly check I stepped on the scale and weighed in at 28.5 lbs! My Nana and Papa could tell I had gained some pounds while I was in Washington. It was all of Grandma Carol's good cooking! I'm settling in here again and am down to just one nap a day now. I still sleep 12-13 hours at night.
I love to ride in the car and point out all the trucks that go by. I used to think the car was a 24 hour diner but now I just sit back with my shades on and relax. Each time I see a truck I say "one more" because I want to see more and more. Fire trucks are especially fun to see. Once I saw one and asked for one more but mom and dad said that would be the only one...well, wouldn't you know it, another passed by! So I asked for one more and a few minutes down the road we saw one more!
Mom, dad and I have been quite busy lately looking at tons of houses. I think we should just live with Nana, Papa and kitty but my parents think we need our own place. Dada starts school on Monday so it'll just be me and Mama but I'm sure we'll keep ourselves busy. I like to help unload the dishwasher and I still help out with the laundry occasionally.
Well, thanks for checking in! See you next time!

Eat Kitty, Eat!

I love it when Nana feeds the kitty. Sometimes I help her but my favorite thing to do is to go get the kitty and tell her to "eat, eat". Sometimes she will just let her food sit there. Hello! Even I know what to do when food is put on my plate! Here I am trying to show her what to do.
