HK Zoo and Botanical Gardens

Today mom and dad took me to the Hong Kong Zoo! It was pretty small but that's okay because it was really hot outside. I saw primates, tortoises, porcupines, a leopard and lots of birds! My favorite part was the plain old birds flying around. Every time I saw one I would point and say "birrr". I also pointed to the monkeys and said "da-da". Mom thought that was pretty funny. She agreed, dad does look like a monkey!

There was even a park there! After a falafel lunch I got to play.
I was already tired when we got to the zoo because I was missing my morning nap but I was really tuckered out on the way home. I fell asleep on mom the whole ride home and didn't even wake up when we got off the bus. I think she liked the good snuggle time!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's day! I treated my mom extra special today (with the help of dad). First, I got up and fixed her my favorite breakfast, banana pancakes! I think she likes them too. I even gave her a couple bites! Then we went to church and (because I wouldn't be quiet) I took her outside to play with me. We had lots of fun.

After that we went to her favorite Italian restaurant for lunch. It was quite yummy. I sat in a highchair like a big boy and ate all the same foods as mom and dad.
And when we got home I gave her lots of snuggles and let her take a nap on the couch while I played with dad. I sure hope mom knows how lucky she is to have a great son like me!

P.S. Sal, did you notice my fancy shoes? They're still a little big but I insisted on wearing them today! I love em!

16 Months!

I'm 16 months old today! As you can see, I'm practicing my overhead pass. Sitting still has become a thing of the past and I am on the go constantly. I love to climb onto the couch and chairs and lately I've been standing on them, bouncing and running. Mom says this is no good but boy is it fun!

Climbing the Couch!

Today while mom was doing the dishes I was being unusually quiet. (I'm typically right at her feet if she's in the kitchen...don't want her sneaking any food without me!) So she stuck her head out to see what I was up to and she found me sitting on the couch like a big boy! Getting up wasn't so bad...it was the getting down part that scared her. After several attempts at lunging down head first, mom taught me how to get down feet first. Here I am perfecting my skill!

A Day at the Beach!

Yesterday the mom's group went to Gold Coast beach for a day of fun in the sun! This was my first time actually touching sand. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but after a few minutes I decided it was okay to play in. I didn't really like the water touching my toes so I mostly stayed in the shade and played. I took this sand business very seriously. I dug and scooped sand into pails but I kept a very serious face the whole time.

I did get excited when I found some balls to play with though. Here I am showing off my form! Am I gonna be a lefty?
