What should I be....

When I grow up?

An artist?

An architect?

A personal shopper?

A composer?

A landscape gardener?
A pet whisperer?

There are just so many options!

Tennessee

Yesterday we took a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennesee to meet up with one of mom and dad's friends from high school. Seeff and his family are from Illinois but they were vacationing nearby so we decided to drive up for a visit. Here we are with the beautiful Smokey Mountains in the background.

They were staying in a fun log cabin and I couldn't get enough of the stairs. And their little boy, Awstace had a cool bike that he let me ride. I toppled over a couple times but that didn't stop me from wanting to ride it.
After we had lunch we all got changed to go swimming but when we got to the pool someone had gotten sick in it so it was closed. Awstace decided to go in the hot tub instead but I just watched and played with his mom. I would grab her leg and tell her to "go go" and she was a real trooper because she was 7 months pregnant and she still got down on the floor to play with me. I really liked her!

Here Awstace and I are apparently playing with our feet.

Happy Father's Day!

I love my Dada so much! I have been a very sweet boy today giving him lots of hugs and kisses. I got him a book called Raising Dad and it was so much fun surprising him with it.

We got up this morning and went to a big church where I enjoyed lots of music. Then Papa and I went out to run around for a while. After that we went to my great-grandparents house for a good ol' southern meal. I had green beans, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes (minus the butter and sugar...she made it special for me) a couple deviled eggs and a roll. The sweet potatoes were my favorite! Mom had to take them away from me because I was eating so much but I saw them again at dinner time so I was happy.

My great-grandparents got me a bag full of gifts that I had fun opening. I got some cheerios with a cool travel container, a sweater, some fruit and some teddy grahams. Somehow I don't think I'll be eating those. I haven't been introduced to sugar yet. Seeing how I devour other foods my parents are scared to give it to me!
It was a fun day but we were all tuckered out on the way home. Night night!

Down at the lake...

Where my grandparents live there is a lake with tons of geese, a playground, a beach, a fishing place and you can even take little paddle boats out on the water. Mom says I have to be a bigger boy to do that. But I love the playground and I love the birds!

Me, mom and a goose!
Me, dad and duck! That duck wanted to take a little nibble of my finger but luckily dad was there to protect me.

Papa took me down the slide and I giggled and giggled. By the look on my face though I think I liked the swing the best!

17 months!

Boy how time flies. I am 17 months old now and very much a little boy, not a baby anymore. I've got my own ideas on what I want to do and when. I love to pull at my parent's legs and say "go, go" when I want them to come with me. I love to play catch, kick balls, blow bubbles, run around outside, step on crunchy leaves and watch ants. I can also run! My little legs can go quite fast. If I fall I just get back up, dust off my hands and keep on going. I'm a tough cookie!

I'm still sweet as can be and of course I eat like a champ. I weigh 25 lbs now!

I really like living with my grandparents and discovering new things. I even like to ride in my carseat even though we didn't have those in Hong Kong. I sing along to the songs, read books and ask my parents for crackers. Since I've learned to say "pees" (please) they can't resist.

Well, that's all for now. Be on the lookout for more pictures soon!

Hello North Carolina!

My first week in North Carolina has been like a dream! I love my grandparents and I love this big house I get to run around in. One rug here is bigger than my whole room in Hong Kong! And the kitchen....where do I begin? The fridge and the pantry are my new best friends. I know right where the cheese drawer is!

My grandparents are doing a great job of spoiling me. I have my own room filled with tons of fun toys and they took me to the toy store yesterday and we got even more. My favorite thing may be the cat though. I say "kitty kitty" all the time and I know where her secret hiding spot is. Luckily she likes me. At first we were both a little bit wary of each other but now we are big buds. I am very gentle with her and I let her give me kisses even though they tickle me.
I love spending time with my grandparents. I decided that I wanted to call my grandpa "Papa" and I say his name whenever I see him. "Gamma" is still a little hard to say so I just go grab her hand when I want to play with her. I give her hugs and kisses and she gives me my baths and reads my bedtime stories to me. We also like to sing "Away in a Manger" together.

I've been a real sleeping champ ever since I arrived. I beat my record with 14.5 hours one night! That was in addition to 5 hours of napping during the day. The only way to beat jetlag is to sleep it off! Last night I only clocked in 12 hours so I think I am getting used to this time zone. When I wake up I am so excited to play. My grandparents got me some cool sheets with basketballs, footballs and baseballs on them and I wake up saying "ball, ball!" This sure is a fun place!
My great-grandparents have been to visit me twice already. They live about an hour away. I showed them how I can blow bubbles and I got to play ball with them too.
Everything here is a new adventure and I love it!

Bye-bye Hong Kong!

"Bye-bye" (high pitch) Hong Kong! (That's the cantonese for goodbye.) On Saturday some of mommy and daddy's friends got together for a baby shower for our friends Jen and Gordon. It was a good chance to see some friends before we left for the States.

After a very stressful morning for mom and dad (last minute packing, moving furniture out of our flat...and the infamous headache of not actually having plane tickets 2 hours before we were supposed to leave) we managed to make it to the airport and board the plane...several thousand dollars later. As for me, I couldn't have been happier running around and getting my last few pictures taken with complete strangers. Mom and dad say in America there will be lots of blond-haired blue-eyed kids. After we got the plane tickets, all of our luggage was overweight and our carry-ons were apparently too big as well, but I sat down on a bag, flashed my irresistable smile and bam, we got to take them after all, simple as that! Don't mention it mom and dad, this is what I do!
On the plane I was a real trooper. I played with the headphones, tray tables, windows, magazines and I ran up and down the aisles. I only slept 4 of the 16 hours we were in the plane but I was happy as a camper.
Oh and let me tell you a little story about what happened at the Chicago airport...
I got kissed right on the smacker by an older girl...and I liked it! Her name was Sarah and she was 3. First she told her mom that I was a cute baby and then she grabbed my face and planted one on me! I just stood there and then she did it again. After that I was puddy in her hands. I went up to her, puckered and asked for another one. Mom says I should play a little harder to get!
