Mr. Science

I love the science museum! Everyday I ask to go there and we usually end up going about twice a week...at least we try. Mom keeps forgetting that it's closed on Mondays. It seems I discover something new every time. Our first stop is always the rice table. I work away while mom tries to keep Ezekiel from dumping it all over the floor, which he seems to prefer despite the sign that says "please keep the rice IN the table". Then we head in the play room for a little dress up and slides. Today I played with some balls and air tubes, the grocery store and the giant bubble. What a fun day!

Go Zags!

Oh, what we do for our dad... He made us all wear Gonzaga gear today to get ready for the big game tonight. Unfortunately it starts after my bedtime so he'll have to give me the play by play tomorrow.

Ezekiel is quite the recorder player these days...I think he's more interested in the band!

St. Paddy's day!

I'm not sure I get all the St. Patrick's day stuff but it sure was fun doing crafts and cooking green things with mom today! Ma Herzog would be so proud, we cooked green fettuccine, broccoli, lime jello and my personal favorite...green sugar cookies! Zekey and I also painted and made cool hats but he refused to wear his so we let Daddy wear it! Mom was the only one not wearing green today but I decided to pinch dad instead!

"I'm not better yet."

This is what I tell mom and dad every time they ask me how I'm feeling. I've got one more day left of my antibiotics but yesterday I spiked a 104 fever and a rash. Mom called the advice nurse and she said to bring me in! Turns out it's just a virus but boy does it make me feel bad. Dad picked me up some bubble gum flavored medicine to get my fever down so that made me feel a bit better. The strangest part of this whole sickness stuff is that my appetite is gone. I'll ask mom to fix me something but then I'll tell her I'm too full to eat. You know I must really be sick when I turn down food! I did manage to get down some ice cream yesterday when my fever was so high.
Other than that things are fine. I love to go to the library for story time and on Thursdays we even get to do crafts! Today I made a drum.
I have officially entered the world of "why" now. I ask this question about a kazillion times a day. It's fun for mom I'm sure!
I went through a stage a while ago where I wouldn't nap or go to bed without a fuss but I'm over that now. Getting a sticker if I'm good helps! As always I'm working on "listening and obeying" and most days I'm pretty good. I'm also becoming quite the negotiator. If mom and dad say I can't play with something because I'm not sharing or being nice then I'll say, "If I can't play with that then I'm not going to play with anything!". You might think this would work great but for some reason it's not having the effect I was hoping...guess I need to sharpen those skills!

Sunshiny day!

On Monday we were building snowmen but by Saturday we were playing outside in the 75 degree weather! This is my friend Kathryn, her daddy works with my daddy and now that the weather is warmer I'm hoping I get to play with her more often! The plan was to run around the soccer field together but I was more interested in playing with the orange cones and eating so Kathryn played with Daddy and Ezekiel.

My stats

Well I had my wellness/sickness check up yesterday and my doctor says we're going to try some antibiotics to get me feeling better. My tonsils and adenoids weren't as bad as my mom thought but I have lots of fluid in my ears which explains why I am always saying "what" and "talk louder" to my parents. Other than that I'm doing great. I weigh 37 pounds (90%) and I am 39 inches tall (75%). I did have to have one shot that I kicked and screamed for but then I got a cool band-aid and I was all better.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Daddy got a surprise day off on his birthday because we got snow! Mommy and I made him a heart cake because we love him so much.
And with my help we got him some Thomas the Train stuff! It was what he always wanted and I even let him play with it too.

We had lots of fun playing in the snow! I especially liked throwing snowballs at Dad.
We even built a real snowman this time and he was bigger than me!
After a while my cheeks were getting real rosy so we headed in for some hot cocoa, my favorite! Then after my nap we checked on old Mr. Snowman and well, he looked a little droopy after a few more inches fell.

For the past couple of weeks I've been having some trouble sleeping because of my chronic snoring and I've been fighting a cold so that makes it worse. So at night I get up a few times and sleep with mom and dad or ask them to come sleep with me and well, no one gets that much sleep. So Mom bought these cool bandaids for my nose that she's hoping will help with the snoring. I go in for a well check up today and mom has a hunch that my tonsils and adenoids will be coming out soon...I'm not sure what that's all about but I guess we'll find out soon!

Go Fish!

Since I'm a big boy I get to stay up a little later than Ezekiel and play games! Mom and dad bought me the Candy Land game and I love it! We play a game every night and after each card that I pick I say, "Go Fish". Mom and dad were a little confused because we've never actually played "Go Fish" but I told them I learned it in Sunday school.
My favorite part of Candy Land is when I pick the special cards that either send you forward or backward. It doesn't matter to me, in fact I like Plumpy the best (he's way back at the beginning)! I also like to get stuck on the licorice and lose a turn. Mom and dad are wondering how long this sweet stage will last.

Fun Times!

I had the best day on Monday! My friend Jake came over to play all day long because his school was out for President's day. We colored, painted, played with cars and went down the slide. He even taught Ezekiel how to golf! We had a great time and I can't wait for him to come back and play!

Valentine Nana!

I'm a little late with my valentines this year but I did make some! 4 people are getting them...as soon as we get some stamps! I had lots of fun painting and glueing and decorating. I even did some fancy writing! We celebrated Nana's birthday on Valentine's day and I helped make the cake! I also helped her open all her gifts. (Did I mention I picked them out too?...I knew she would love Thomas the train stuff!) I just love birthdays, I'm already looking forward to my next one!

Thanks for the cool package Ma and Pa, we got it today!

3 years, 1 month

Mom used to have to bribe me to get my picture taken but this time I reminded her! Then it was my turn to be behind the camera instead of in front of it! Sometimes mom lets me practice taking pictures and then we have lots of fun looking at them on the computer. This time Dad was my subject. He was a pretty good model and took my direction well. I would tell him, "oops your eyes were closed, open them bigger and smile" and "oh that was a good one". Here are just a few of my shots.

Brrrrrr!

Another snow day! Daddy got to stay home and play with us all day. It was 9 degrees (-3 with windchill) but that didn't stop us from going out to play in the snow. Check out this cool icicle Dad and I found on our car!

Bedtime Stories...by yours truly

I love my little brother. After our baths I get to read him his bedtime stories. He has two favorite books: What do you say and a book of nursery rhymes. We've read them lots and lots so I know all the words. Mom's favorite to listen to is hush little baby don't say a word because although I know all of the sayings, I don't always get them in the right order so apparently it's pretty funny, especially when I use my sweet singing voice.
