Nature Center

Fall is here!
Last weekend mom and dad took me to the Nature Center and boy was it fun! I got to see lots of fun animals and even got to pet some of them. I wasn't too sure at first but once I saw dad petting them I figured it was okay.

Here I am driving a big tractor.

Thanks for the fun day! I can't wait to go back!

22 months!

Someone stop me! I'm growing too fast! I am 22 months old today.

Some things I love to do are paint, play with my trucks, go outside with my choo choo train, eat, and read books.

We just got a new book about a big brother and I love to read it. I pat mom's belly when it mentions a baby brother. I call him "Baby Zeke" and I ask to hold him a lot. I even kiss mom's belly button. I am a very sweet boy.

I'm still taking swim lessons but I do not enjoy putting my face under the water. I know every time the instructor comes near me I have to go under so I shout, "no no" but they blow in my face anyway and under I go. I always do a good job and never swallow any water so I'm sure with a little more practice I'll soon enjoy it. I love to go in the shower before and after class and I don't mind getting water in my face then.

My favorite foods are still cheese (orange, white, cottage, it's all good!), cereal, grapes, prunes, spinach, peaches, beans, noo noos (noodles) and my new fascination eggs! Mom hard boils them for me and I love to crack them open. They have to limit me to just one or two a day or else I could probably eat a whole carton of them! Mom and dad also have to hide things in the fridge because I go there whenever I want and get out whatever I want. It's getting harder and harder for them to hide things from me though because I can climb right in and even pull out the drawers. I also love to mix my food. Some of my best concoctions are grapes and spinach, cereal and corn, peaches and carrots, just to name a few. And I also love to mix 3 or 4 different kinds of cereal in my bowl each morning. Lately I've been hooked on Cheerios, Kix, Fiber One, and Corn Chex.

I now know all my colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, brown, white) and can count to 10. I also know a few letters like B, P, O, D, X, and a few others sometimes. My favorite is B for some reason. I point them out in books, on road signs and on cereal boxes. Speaking of road signs, I love to watch the traffic lights and tell mom and dad when to "pop" (stop) and "go".
Well, thanks for checking in on me! See you soon!

Baby Shower for Zeke

Today mom and I went to a surprise baby shower for dad at his school. His math department kept it a secret from him but they had to tell mom since they wanted her to come too. We went there for lunch and then everyone started bringing out gifts. I even got a toy truck! And I LOVE it! When mom and I got home I held it while we read books and I begged to take it to bed with me but had to settle for leaving it on the couch. Mom said we could play with it when I wake up. Having a baby brother around won't be bad at all if I keep getting all these cool gifts!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ("quack quack")

This year I decided to be a duck for Halloween. It was a tough decision because I like so many things. I was going to be a bear because my parents still call me "Jonah Bear". I was also going to be a dog because, well, I love dogs. There was also a cute penguin costume or a cow, the list goes on...
Well I started my fascination with ducks a couple weeks ago when my mom and I were shopping at Ross. I saw a nice porcelin duck soap dish and I had to have it. I carried that thing around with me the whole time and handed it to the cashier fully expecting to see it again. Unfortunately that was not the case. I stood on my tippy toes and pleaded, "me duck please" but it didn't work. Luckily mom got me a duck a couple days later when I wouldn't stop talking about it. And ever since then, that duck goes everywhere with me. He reads books with me on the couch, sits with me in the car, takes a bath with me, you name it! I leave him on the couch when I go to bed though, he's not very soft. So there you have it. I am a duck for Halloween!
I went over to my Nana and Papa's house for dinner and to show them my costume. I didn't go trick-or-treating but I waited at the door to see who came to our house.
My baby brother Zeke was a Jack-O-Lantern for Halloween and after I saw that I wanted my belly painted too! Mom said maybe next year. Yesterday mom and I made cookies for dad's school. I was such a good helper and quite entertained for a long time.
Before Halloween mom tried to get me to put on my costume but I only liked the hat and feet. Today was the first day I actually put on the whole costume and that's only because I was bribed with cheese.
Well, I hope those crazy kids don't keep me up ringing my door bell tonight. I'm off to bed!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Oooey Goooey Pumpkin Guts

I had a great time scooping out all of the pumpkin guts. I wasn't too sure at first but after mom did it I dug right in. I loved to find the seeds.
Here's our finished product.
Like my shoes? (I borrowed Dad's slippers.)

PUMPKINS GALORE!

Well, we didn't make it to another pumpkin patch as planned but we did go to a great pumpkin sale! Mom and dad let me pick out the pumpkin I wanted. A nice lady there tried to give me a sticker but I declined with a polite "no no" so she gave them to dad instead. After I picked out my pumpkins I decided that I should rearrange the rest of them. Just helping out, that's what I do! I took them one at a time to another spot then I moved them all back where I found them. Before I knew it, it was time to go. Looks like we're gonna carve them tonight! Stay tuned...

Road Trip to Georgia!

This past weekend we took a trip to Georgia to visit my Great Uncle Robert and Aunt Connie. My Great Grandma and Pop and Nana came too! We went there to celebrate my Pop's 81st birthday. I was a trooper in the car for 3 hours. We sang songs, played peek-a-boo with my blue blanket and looked for cows.
I had a great time in Georgia. We didn't do much but it was fun exploring a new house. There were lots of pictures and statues of dogs, pigs, cock-a-doodle doo's and horses for me to find. I especially liked one dog that sat in the hallway. I even gave him kisses!
It was fun playing outside too. My Nana took me outside whenever I wanted to go. We walked around and smelled flowers and played in the grass.
I decided that my Uncle Robert should be called "Rob" and my Aunt Connie "Chup". Sometimes I called her that and sometimes I called her "Con". They don't have any kids and rumor has it that Rob is a little bit afraid of us youngsters. Well that didn't bother me. One night mom asked me who I wanted to give me a bath and I immediately said "Rob". He passed so Nana got the honors. It was a fun weekend and mom and dad enjoyed a little break while everyone else played with me.

A Day With Dad

My dad is the greatest! I love it when he comes home from work. When I hear him pull up I first run to mom and koala bear hug her to pretend I'm scared. Then when he comes to the door I run really fast and look out to see if he brought the truck home. (I love trucks!) Then I give dad a big hug and kiss and I help him put away his shoes. Shortly after that we head outside to play and sometimes we get to go to the park!
Here we are looking for ducks in the lake.
Mom's two best men!
Picture perfect.
Aahhhhh, aren't I sweet?

PUMPKIN PATCH

Last weekend mom and dad took me to my first pumpkin patch! I have to admit the actual pumpkin patch left much to be desired (there were just pumpkins laying in a field) but I didn't mind. I enjoyed running around and I even picked up this pumpkin but mom was a bit too slow with the camera and I didn't want to do it again (it was heavy!).

My favorite part of the trip was seeing all the cool animals. Mom and dad said there would be animals there so I told them I really wanted to see kitties and birds but I had to settle for pigs, chicks, horses, sheep, turkeys and my favorite.. the dog!

We had so much fun that we're going to try and find another pumpkin patch to go to next weekend! I can't wait!

21 months old!

I'm legal at 21 months old now. Everyone says I'm growing so fast and getting bigger each time they see me. In fact, I just went to the pediatrician the other day and I'm healthy as a horse. I even managed to avoid the cold that mom and dad got. I coughed a little bit but felt fine. Mom gave me some cough medicine at night and I couldn't get enough of that yummy stuff. I would go up to her the next few days and fake a cough and say, "med, med" because I wanted more medicine. I liked to dip the top of it and squeeze it in my mouth.
I'm officially 29 lbs. (75%) and 35 inches tall (95%). It's getting harder and harder for mom to pick me up these days. I still make her crawl around on the floor and play trucks with me.
I've kept pretty busy with swim classes and playing outside. I passed the Baby I class and tomorrow I start Baby II! I love to swim. In the bathtub I sing all my swimming songs and pretend to go under water. I like to play on my tummy in the tub now too.
Well, that's all for now. (Mom and dad still don't have internet at their house so my next update may be in a few days.)
